Extended Cetacean Society Trip today !!

Santa Barbara Channel Whale Watchers

Here are the species we watched closely today:

7 giant Blue Whales ( perhaps as many as 12 in binocular range )

2,000 long-beaked Common Dolphins

4 Humpback Whales

The wind cranked up early, but so did we as we departed the dock at 8am with a charter group from the LA chapter of the American Cetacean Society on board for a 7 hour adventure.  Again we found the mother lode of Blue Whales and Humpback Whales.  As has been the case all week, massive herds of Common Dolphins were seen riding the large smoking swells.  This was California Whale Watching at its finest !  It's always a thrill to see these animals at home amongst the high winds and heavy seas.  Very inspirational and sinus-cleansing too.

Call 888-77WHALE or 805-882-0088 to book your trip.

In addition to the expert crew on the Condor Express with over 35 years of experience, Channel Islands Naturalist Corps volunteer naturalists, representatives from the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and National Park, are usually on board and available to answer your questions during the trip.

Best fishes, have a WHALE of a day and OCEANS of fun!
