Report for Wednesday, May 9, 2012
Species counts:
12 Humpback Whales (more in the area) 1,200 Common Dolphins (in two pods)
We ran to the east to avoid the fog and hit the mother lode ! 12 Humpback Whales were closely followed with more spouts in the area. Again we witnessed the spectacular behavior of these knobby-headed beasts: lunge feeding on surface krill, tail throwing, and two monster breaches all in plain view of the Condor Express. Wow.
Special Note regarding this Weekend: Friday and Sunday are private charter trips. Saturday is our only open boat date and it is filling up fast. Make your reservation now to get out there while the whales are frisky.
