2019 08-02 SB Channel
The thick, ground-level fog hung around all morning and finally broke to completely sunny, blue skies. The wind was nill and that bump from the western Channel continued. Sightings were very good: 7 humpback whales and 1500+ long-beaked common dolphins.
Action centers were found south and southwest of Holly again today. Among the interesting whale things we watched, there was some moderately distant tail-throwing, a nice episode of kelping (with rolling around included), and several good looks and a mother with her calf.
Dolphins were around all day and everywhere. Everyone (including me) loves dolphin watching and it is especially wonderful to see whales and dolphins on the same hot spot.
