Watching Humpbacks as we wait for the Gray Whale Calves

Report for Wednesday, April 11:

One trip: 5 Humpback Whales (We followed 2 closely; 3 others nearby) 2 Dall's Porpoise

We appear to be in the valley of the population curve between the massive adult Gray Whale northbound push and the (very soon) arrival of the cows with their new calves. With a record-breaking calf count in the lagoons this season, we know they have to start the parade any day now.
