2020 02-24 SB Coast
Clear skies, light breezes, and a light chop on the water greeted the crew and passengers of the Condor Express today as we cruised along the coast in search of wildlife. The following species were closely watched: 400 Pacific white-sided dolphins and 2+ Pacific gray whales.
A very large herd of dolphins was located. They were spread out and we followed them from Henry’s Beach east to the oil rigs. They were extremely active, jumping, and boat-friendly. We spent a lot of time with these marvelous black-and-white animals. After leaving the dolphins, Captain Colton cruised along the coast from Summerland back to the harbor. Near the harbor there were two northbound migrating gray whales which we settled in with for some great looks. One of the beasts breached six or seven times very close to the boat! Wow!
