5 Gray Whales and 1 Humpback named Scarlet

5 Gray Whales and 1 Humpback named Scarlet

Captain Dave found Scarlet mid-Channel where she has been feeding the last few days.   She made a friendly pass or two and entertained her fan club.  Closer to Santa Cruz Island we closely observed another species of #whale:  gray whales.   There were two groups heading south, a group of 3 and a group of 2.   Great looks!   Throughout the day we watched a total of about 500 long-beaked common #dolphins.  The conditions were better than yesterday and we were able to pay a visit to the world famous Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island.   It was a great way to close out the year of 2014.   We are running trips all week and this weekend too.
