A bit of breaching today.

2016 04-21 SB Channel

Captain Eric ran two trips today with wonderful sea and weather conditions.  Here are the details:

12 noon The Condor Express hugged the kelp and ran west.   Soon two gray whales, a mother and her calf, were found in the kelp.  The calf was rolling around and generally having “fun.”  Next, Eric took the Condor offshore where 2 humpback whales were observed.  These whales made a couple of friendly approaches to the boat and, at one point, a whale breached off the stern of the boat and laid down an enormous thunder clap and splash.

3 pm On the late afternoon excursion the kelp superhighway was in a lull point and no gray whales were encountered.  A trip offshore brought is within good visual range of 4 humpback whales…again there was some nice breaching to be seen.
