2019 07-05 SB Channel
It was a beautiful sunny day in the Santa Barbara Channel with epic summertime wildlife sightings. Capt and Colton and the crew reported seven humpback whales, 1000 long-beaked common dolphins, and over 100 California sea lions.
Some of the highlights included one whale very early in the trip that spent some time looking us over quite closely. Later there was a large female swimming around in an area with a small juvenile (was it her calf?) At one point a little calf got fully airborne. Apparently this little guy had every single part of the body out of the water in a stunning display.
