California whale watching trips finding lots of Minke whales this week

California Whale Watching Report

Wed. Oct. 10

California whale watching trips are finding a lot of Minke whales lately. There was a momentary light sprinkle of rain over the eastern Channel today, as once again Minke whales dominate the Santa Barbara whale watching today. Large pods of common dolphins were also seen throughout the trip. The views of the mainland and Channel Islands were spectacular. Wow, what a day to be enjoying nature on the water.

Wildlife Count: Minke whales (5) Common Dolphins (thousands – really!) Sea lions (hundreds) Shearwaters a plenty
