Whales and Science !! report for Wed Sept 8

Greetings Ocean Lovers, Here is what the Condor Express closely watched today: 4 Blue Whale 25 California Sea Lions 800 Common Dolphins

Not only did we see these mighty blue whales AND a megapod of common dolphins, but today was a very special day on the channel.  We hooked up with researcher John Calambokidis of Cascadia Research.  His team tags whales with a harmless temporary suction cup transmitter, from whence they record all the various habits of these beasts.  His group also maintains the official data base for identifying individual whales, particularly Humpbacks.  John and 2 of his colleages actually came alongside the Condor Express today, out in the channel, and gave a short talk to all aboard about his work and demonstrated the application of the harmless suction cup tags.  Wow!  Whales and an in situ seminar by The Man !!

You never know on a day to day basis what mother nature has in store.  But it is always an amazing day full of sea creatures and adventures on the high seas when the Condor Express leaves the dock every day at 10am regularly.  Hope to see you and your associates out there… Sign up now and tell your friends.  Call 1-888-77WHALE or 805-882-0088 to get your name on the list before all the spots fill up. Photographs from weekend, school vacation and holiday trips, similar to what was seen today, are available online www.CondorExpressPhotos.com
