Wild and Wooley Ocean Wildlife

It was a private charter with corporate executives and an afternoon, after the wind came up, expedition. The Condor Express bounced over the moderate chop for about an hour until we spotted the feeding area for humpback whales. All totaled we watched at least 5 humpback whales, and there were at least 2500 common dolphins sharing the banquet hall with the whales and sea birds.

I must say that I never tire of witnessing these massive amounts of active biomass thriving in rough seas, which to us humans is an alien environment with a hint of danger. Whales busting through the oncoming seas, sending spray and spouts everywhere in the winds…all in that bright afternoon glare…absolutely a privilege to behold.
