20 bottlenose dolphins and 3 gray whales

2019 03-02 SB Coast

Captain Dave and the crew of the Condor Express located 3 gray whales and 20 coastal bottlenose dolphins today. There were calm seas but spots of light rain during this noon excursion. The whales and dolphins didn’t seem to care…they were already wet!

The first sighting was a northbound whale located just off the Lighthouse. We tagged along behind and got great looks and ended up off More Mesa. At More Mesa we were greeted by a large pod of bottlenose dolphins and had a lot of fun watching them.

Our eagle-eyed second captain, Tasha, spotted two more whales near Campus Point and that rounded-out a fabulous trip.

You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
