Captain Tasha

2016 07-12 SB Channel

Captain Dave ran a tremendous excursion today, saw tons of whales, but that was not the big story. The greatest sighting was of our deck hand Tasha who, today, received her final 100-ton Masters License, aka Captain’s License. Yeah, Tasha!   Look for her in the Captain’s chair behind the wheel soon. Congratulations, Tasha. Also sighted were 7 humpback whales, 2 giant blue whales and at least 1,500 long-beaked common dolphins.

It was another gorgeous sunny day with light chop and no wind until after 12 noon way out at the south side of the Santa Barbara Channel.   Sightings were fantastic and there were plenty of tail flukes to be seen all around.

Keep your fingers crossed that these epic conditions will continue.
