12 gray whales (6 cow-calf pairs) + bottlenose

Captain Dave ran a 12noon and a 3pm adventure along the Santa Barbara coast today.   The noon trip had calm seas and sunny skies and 8 gray whales.  All were mothers with calves and per usual the calves were rambunctious and performed barrel rolls and other calf-like tricks.   Later, on the late afternoon excursion, 4 more gray whales (all mothers and calves) were watched and a nice pod of at least 15 bottlenose dolphins came and played.  The conditions got a little bumpy later in the day, but it was a great day over all with wonderful sightings.

The “plan” is to run 9am and 12 noon on Saturday. You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
