Skies were sunny and the lack of wind created glassy conditions Therewas a residual and pernicious 2 foot bump from overnight winds. Captain Eddy and the crew ran S of the Harbor about 6 1/2 miles. Once again the sightings and the action were phenomenal: 11 humpback whales, 25 common dolphins, 80 California sea lions and 1 blue shark.

The crew spotted a birdnado and headed towards it. It was moving and it was active… Full of whales, dolphins and sea lions. There were random humpback surface lunges all around the zone. Among the 8 whales in this location, there was a mix of young and old beasts. The lunges were both vertical and sideways. After a while the action slowed down, probably due to diminished food availability. As we motored SE, a whale breached 3 times fairly close to the boat.

Our friend Devin pointed us to a very active trio that he had been watching. All were adults. We spent more than 30 minutes watching them mug the Condor Express with spy hops, rolling, playing in the jet wash, and vocalizing. What a show!

We had a quick look at a single small blue shark that came by. It sounded quickly and, thus, some people did not see it at all.

You never know what mother nature has in store.
