A gray whale pair and lots of bottlenose dolphins.

2019 02-21 SB Coast

Captain Dave and the crew of the Condor Express ran one coastal excursion and 9am with good sea conditions before wind and seas ramped up later in the day. Sightings included 2 gray whales and 15 coastal bottlenose dolphins.

The whales were encountered along the edge of the kelp near Campus Point as they migrated down the coast on the southbound leg of their journey to Baja California Sur. We followed along at a safe distance until we reached Elwood Beach.

Near Elwood we were greeted by a large pod of inshore bottlenose dolphins that swam around the boat. Great looks were had by all.
