A nice day of good sightings

2017 05-13 SB Coast

Two gray whales, 25 long-beaked common dolphins and 3 coastal bottlenose dolphins were seen during our two excursions today.  The day started out with a medium breeze and got windier as the day progressed.  Captain Eric took the helm of the Condor Express and his renowned crew joined him in producing a nice day of good sightings.

9 am A mother gray whale and her calf were intercepted near the old lighthouse and followed west to More Mesa.   The traveled along at a steady pace while sticking to the kelp beds near the beach.

12 noon Common dolphins came to the boat as we were ½ mile off the old lighthouse and used our various wake waves to enhance their transport.  Near Goleta Pier we located bottlenose dolphins and they gave great looks as well.  It was a nice day of good sightings.

You never know what Mother Nature has in store. Bob Perry Condor Express
