Nine humpback whale thrilled all on board the Condor Express in the Santa Barbara Channel today. There were all sorts of behaviors to enjoy. Hunger was high on the minds of these whales again today, and surface lunge feeding was everywhere. I continue to wonder where all these anchovies are coming from this year. One of the whales breached repeatedly including one breach very very close to the boat. Wow. Added to all the above at least 4 Minke whales and 600 common dolphins and you get the idea. Sea conditions were good.
Tomorrow’s trip (Friday) is not going due to high wind forecasts from weather.gov.
