Dolphins sea lions and a humpback whale mix things up a bit.

2026 04–07 SB Channel
The skies were mostly sunny. There was a light SE breeze. The surface was a bit bumpy. Totals: 200 common dolphins, 100 California sea lions, and 1 humpback whale.
Captain Eddy and the crew left the Harbor and ran up the coast. There was a medium-sized pod of common dolphins near Hendry's beach. We spent some quality time and got great looks. From there, headed SW and found a single, juvenile, humpback whale not far from the dolphins. It breached 2 times as we approached it. The whale interacted with a raft of 100 sea lions. Both the whale and the sea lions synchronized their dive cycles. We had great, close, ..looks and spent most of the trip here.
You never know what mother nature has in store.
