Humpback calf encore performance.

2018 08-25 SB Channel

It was a beautiful day on the water as Captain Tasha took the Condor Express and a boatload of whale lovers all the way to Santa Rosa Island again. Once again the very little humpback calf we saw yesterday stole the show. Totals for the day included:  three humpback whales, 1500 long-beaked common dolphins and at least 500 California sea lions.

The hotspot was off Carrington Point at Santa Rosa Island again today where the dolphins located the huge sub surface bait balls and the humpback whales followed and gulped them down. The little calf came close to the boat again today it also threw its tail around and created a ruckus as only a baby whale can. What a privilege to be there and get all this attention from such a young wild beast.
