Labor Day brings another great east Channel adventure

A bright and sunny day out on the eastern Santa Barbara Channel yielded a nice assortment and abundance of marine mammals.  At least 500 common #dolphins were around the area all day.   Among the 4 humpback whales we watched, one was a very large #whale, the other 3 smaller…perhaps young adults.  There were plenty of very nice tail flukes to be seen from all the whales.   Speaking of whales, 3 very cooperative Minke whales were observed and everyone got good looks at these fast and compact baleen whales.  California sea lions were all around any time there was “action.”     It was a fun day packed with cetaceans and pinnipeds and hominids.
