Nice wildlife near Santa Rosa Isand’s western end.

2018 09-10 SB Channel

Captain Tasha and her crew took a wonderful long excursion across to the western end of Santa Rosa Island in search of wildlife.  At times visibility was limited due to fog.  Totals for the day include 1 humpback whale and 350 long-beaked common dolphins.

The humpback made a couple of nice close, friendly approaches to the Condor Express.  Everyone got great looks, especially at its massive tail flukes as it dove deep while just off our bow.  The dolphins located us and rode our bow, stern and side waves. This is always one of the high points of any cross-Channel excursion.
