One humpback whale and one gray whale

2017 05-08 SB Coast

One humpback whale and one gray whale were seen during a single 12 noon excursion.  Captain Tasha handled the Condor Express and Captain Eric was also on board to help.  Conditions were very nice and a light breeze kicked up towards the end of the cruise.

The humpback was located ½-mile south of Santa Barbara Harbor.  It had short down times and everyone had great looks.  Later, 4 miles south of Campus Point, a solitary gray was located.  This was a small whale, maybe a yearling.  It was heading south in 50 fathoms of water.  Unusual.

You never know what Mother Nature has in store. Bob Perry Condor Express
