Only 1 more day of coastal gray whales and we had 7 of ’em + bottlenose

That’s right.  Mother’s Day (tomorrow) will be our last coastal gray whale trip of the 2014 season.  Starting Monday we’re back to searching for whales out at the Channel Islands.  But with only one day left, boy oh boy, what a trip we had today.  There was only one adventure, the 9am, on which we encountered 7 gray whales (including 3 mother-calf pairs).  Per usual, the babies were rolling around and playing in the kelp forests.  We also had the good fortune to watch at least 15 coastal bottlenose dolphins that were very friendly to put icing on the trip.
