Rain! Whales!

Constant rain commenced about 45 minutes into our 9am trip. Seas were calm with a long-period, gently rolling swell. Sightings for this trip included: 1 gray whale and 1 Minke whale.

The “action” today took place a few hundred yards north of the kelp farm. Our first encounter was with a large, adult gray whale.  We had great looks. Soon thereafter a single Minke whale that came close during its four surface intervals

You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
