The Calves are Coming

2016 04-19 SB Channel

The calves are coming !

Dave ran two excursions.  Sea and weather conditions were good.  Here are the facts that will make you wish you were on board the Condor Express toeday.

12 noon After a short and sweet encounter with the first of 4 mother gray whales and there calves along the coast, Dave took the Condor offshore where 4 humpback whales were found.  Great looks were had by all and at least 250 long-beaked common dolphins were also around the boat.

3 pm Dave cruised the kelp beds between the Harbor and the old Lighthouse and found 3 gray whale cow-calf pairs.   All were in playful moods with spy-hopping, rolling around and climbing up on mom’s back seen by all.  Turning offshore there was a single, nice humpback whale and on the way back in we ran with about 2 Pacific white-sided dolphins.

You never know what Mother Nature has in store. Bob Perry Condor Express
