Image: A humpback whale breaches close to the Condor Express

Captain Danny and the crew found overcast, gray skies all day with calm seas. We closely watched 3 humpback whales today.
About 6 miles south of The Harbor we watched a pair of whales. It was a mother humpback with her calf. The pair was in travel mode, but when we first approached both whales breached three times, before getting back on their travel plans.
Towards the end of the trip, we located and watched a third whale. It had long dive times. It, too, appeared to be travelling. As time was running short, we began backing away. The whale laid down a monster breach close to the boat. (See today’s photo for an example).
You never know what Mother Nature has in store.
