It was a clear and sunny day with no wind. The heavy seas we had yesterday calmed down considerably. In addition, once we were out near the lanes, the water was very clear which enhanced our sightings. Totals for the day: 3 humpback whales.

We ran straight S until we reached an underwater feature, and local fishing hole, called “the dome”. Here we found 1 single juvenile humpback whale. It had fairly long dive times but did come close to the boat, right off our bow. Like both of our sightings today, the water clarity was fantastic.

Next we crossed the lanes to find a pair of whales. These were in travel mode, moving W, and rarely left the surface…great looks for us! The pair also made a couple of visits to the Condor Express.

You never know what mother nature has in store.
