Greetings friends,
The past two days have been amazing out in the Santa Barbara Channel. The overcast skys have come hand in hand with very calm sea conditions allowing the Condor Express to run far to the southwest and find a wonderful abundance and diversity of whales up near Santa Rosa and San Miguel Islands. Today, Thursday, we had good close looks at:
6 Blue Whales
10 Humpback Whales
1 Fin (aka Finback) Whale
100 Common Dolphins
thousands of California Sea Lions
1 Pacific Harbor Seal
The food supply of these whales, krill, is in great supply and all of these big whale species are together on their common feeding grounds. The days ahead are forecast to continue the calm seas, and we expect the magnificent sightings to continue. No where else in the world can one get close to such a great variety of whales and dolphins.
You can always direct interested persons to our photographic site for the daily images: www.CondorExpressPhotos.com
There is still room aboard tomorrow's trip. We depart every day at 10am and return to the Sea Landing in Santa Barbara Harbor around 230pm. Call 1-877-WHALE for reservations.
Thank you for your continued support,
