Whales, whales everywhere today

Tuesday, August 14, 2012 Daily Whale and Dolphin Report:

Here are the species we watched closely today: 9 Blue Whales (more in the area) 7 Humpback Whale (more in the area) 500 Common Dolphins

Several blue whales approached the boat for great close looks. One of the humpbacks circled the boat and then did a mighty tail throw so close that I think people on the lower deck may have gotten some spray. There were so many spouts all around in the distance it was amazing.

2018 10-07 SB Channel Today brought us close looks at 3 humpback whales and 200 long-beaked common dolphins.  It was a sunny day with a little bump on the water from the western Santa Barbara Channel.
